Emerald Bride, Heather Nuss Mastandrea

It’s an absolute honor to feature our Real Bride, Heather Mastandera (Nuss)! We first met Heather at our open house back in December of 2021 where we got to enjoy a glass of wine and pizza together. Shortly thereafter Heather came to us to find her a wedding dress! What started as a bride coming in to look for a dress turned into dinner with drinks after a magical “Said Yes” moment!! Heather is the kindest soul and holds one of our favorite memories to date. You can find Heather wearing our dress Drew by Wilderly with Allure. This stunning high neck a-line has the DREAMIEST chiffon skirt, a subtle sparkle throughout the lace, and a sheer back with alllllllll the buttons. Drew is effortless in every stretch of the word. She is the whistle through the trees of a soft autumn breeze and the shuffle of prairie flowers in a spring time field. Can we just all live in that moment for a minute? Drew is the embodiment of peace and comfort and we are absolutely obsessed with her.

Read through Heather’s wedding day details and two families became one, their smiles say it all:

How did you and your now husband / wife meet?

He is my son’s soccer coach! We joined our he team June 2019 And I was like 😍😍

Where did you get married at? Why did you choose this location?

Our church -Light of the World. It was important to both of us to get married at church with our kids by our side. ❤️

Your favorite memory or funny story from your wedding?

Dancing with my dad! He stepped on my train and ripped it but he was totally oblivious and enjoying himself so I was just kicking it around the whole time trying to dance 😂🤦🏻‍♀️ Laughing so hard the whole time. He has stage 4 pancreatic cancer so we moved our wedding up for him and every part of him being there with us will be a special memory. We had a super small group of family and friends celebrating so the whole reception is just a great memory for me. Our kids and their cousins having fun on the dance floor, us dancing with our kids, etc.

Would you consider your wedding traditional or non traditional? Why?

Non traditional. We didn’t do many of the typical “photo-ops”.. first look, bouquet toss, fancy exit etc.. we just went with the flow and enjoyed the night.

What was one thing that was considered a “must have” for your wedding?

Flowers 😍😍 Italian food and yummy cake 🤤

As a couple, what is your favorite date night?

Hanging on the patio at a winery or brewery with live music

Describe your experience at Emerald’s.

Loved it! Felt like we were hanging with our besties. ❤️❤️

What made you fall in love with your dress?

The beautiful high neckline and see through lace back. I was uncomfortable in anything low cut with cleavage showing.

What’s a solid piece of advice or quote you would share with a future bride?

Try it on even if you aren’t drawn to it on the hanger!

If there’s one thing you would change about the wedding industry what would it be? Why?

Lower the expectations of brides feeling like they need a “Pinterest” wedding. Everything adds up so fast… you don’t need all the random decor and fancy photo backgrounds etc. Just you and your fiancé… and a beautiful dress 😉
