Emerald Bride Kaitlin Detherage-Gardner
Kaitlin had a rustic elegant vision for her wedding and she definitely made that happen! The colors were navy, gold, white and TONS of greenery, who doesn’t love greenery. Kaitlin and her now husband have been together since 2018 and have known each other since they were 16 years old, how cute!
Kaitlin is wearing one of our most sparkly dresses we carry, named Stevie! Stevie is a gorgeous a-line that hits your waist in the right place, not to mention Stevie is FULL of sparkles. Such a light weight material, airy and so much fun.

This is what Kaitlin had to say about her experience with us!
Where did you get married at? Why did you choose this location?
Five Oaks Farm in Cleburne, TX! We chose this location because we wanted a white barn venue! The venue is absolutely beautiful & fit our tight budget. It was a huge plus that they offered us a discount due to my husband being a firefighter!
Did you do a first look at your wedding? If so describe it!
We did a first touch! It was SO perfect & such an intimate moment.💓 We prayed for each other while we held each others hands. We were bawling like babies but it was so special to me! *** UMMMMM WE ARE AT EMERALD’S CRYINNNNG!!***
Your favorite memory or funny story from your wedding?
The weather was absolutely perfect on my wedding day EXCEPT for a random burst of wind during my ceremony that JUST about took my veil right off! 😂 I had a long veil & the end of it had sailed ALL the way to the best man. The best man was trying his best to push it back my way but he just got tangled in it instead 😂 All of our guests & officiant were laughing!
What is the best relationship advice you have received?
Never stop going on dates with one another! If you’re busy, MAKE THE TIME! Quality time with one another will always be important.
What’s a solid piece of advice or quote you would share with a future bride?
I told myself I could plan my wedding on my own & that I didn’t need to waste money on a day of wedding coordinator. I’M SO GLAD I CHANGED MY MIND. Coordinators are so worth it! There is no way I could have managed all of the craziness of setting up on my big day!
If there’s one thing you would change about the wedding industry what would it be? Why?
I hated the pressure of “looking your very best” on your wedding day. I overstressed myself with finding a perfect hair/makeup artist & trying to lose weight before the wedding. (TRUE, At Emerald’s we PREACH just to be you! Don’t try to be that perfect “pinterest” bride!)
