Your wedding dress is the most self expressive clothing garment you are ever going to wear. It embodies this chapter in your life that signifies both knowing exactly who you are and the beginning of a new time in life. You just said the easiest yes to date and you couldn’t be happier to marry the love of your life. Because all of this, it’s only natural to want to share these moments with the ones who love you the most.

Clear communication leaves nothing to the imagination. If you clearly state that you LOVE this dress and whoever you brought with you knows you love it, then there should be zero question that this is your dress. Naturally, Mom might have questions but please know that she isn’t directly questioning you, she’s ultimately reassuring herself and you about what is already true, you LOVE this dress. At the end of the day, she just wants what’s best for you.
Trust the stylist. We have encountered this many times and know how to navigate situations so they don’t go south. It’s our job to not only validate the bride but validate the entourage as well. Concerned Mom will take over the appointment? Book a private appointment by yourself to try on dresses before you bring Mom with you. It’s more common than you think and there is nothing wrong with knowing exactly what you want before bringing Mom. It helps us as stylists prepare not only ourselves but you as well for the second appointment with Mom. We can come up with a game plan for which dresses to try on and ultimately having the security of which dress is already yours give you the confidence to make your decision when the time comes!
We WILL go up to bat for you. If it comes down to it and we have no other option, we will sternly but ALWAYS kindly go up to bat for you. Whats that mean? We will handle Mom or Auntie or whoever it is that needs to get on the same page as the bride. I promise, it will be ok. This won’t start a war. We simply want every bride to leave with their dream dress and we go to great lengths to make sure every bride is taken care of, period.
At the end of the day, and as hard as it may be, this is about you as the bride. Not Mom, not auntie, not your bestie from grade school, and not even your fiance.
